On October 9th, East Ridge Middle School hosted a Culture Celebration Night in celebration of Hispanic Heritage. A special thanks must be given to Ms. Maldonado, our Program Manager for Communities in Schools, for her hard work and dedication in organizing our first Culture Celebration for Hispanic Heritage. Her planning and organization helped to ensure the success of our celebration.
September 15th to October 15th marks Hispanic Heritage Month, where we celebrate the contributions and history of Hispanic and Latin Americans. Our celebration started at 6 pm, and the entire school community was invited to attend. We offered a great selection of Hispanic Food from various cultures and nations, including Mexico and Colombia. Community singers, La Fiesta Latina Radio Station, and our Pioneer Singers provided music for the celebration. The Brainerd High School Hispanic Heritage Club provided a stunning display of Hispanic dance and costumes from many cultures of Latin America.

La Fiesta Latina Radio Station was gracious in providing sound and music for the celebration. Other special guests included La Paz Chattanooga, a community organization that supports inclusion of Latino and Hispanic culture in Southeast Tennessee, and Communities in Schools Organization, which provides support to strengthen community ties for parents, families, and students throughout their community.
The East Ridge Middle School community came together in this celebration of Hispanic culture. The celebration lasted for nearly two hours and provided a great opportunity to highlight the talent and diversity of our school community.
